Hey Beautiful Soul,
Let's talk about letting go! I want to encourage you to be strong and courageous my sister and let go of what has held you back. God wants to do a new thing in our lives however we have to let go of those things that no longer serve us; the limited beliefs, toxic relationships, unforgiveness...I could go on, but you get the point. We have to let it go.
Isaiah 43:18 & 19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
One thing that connects us as human beings is we have all experienced pain. Whether that pain is physical or emotional, we all have experiences of being hurt. What separates us though, is how we deal with that pain.
I don't know about you but when something hurts me, my trauma response is to go into fight mode to protect myself then after I've had time to process it, I go into freeze mode where I become still and silent. Although this is my body's natural way of responding to threats, stressful or frightening situations, God never intended for you and me to stay in trauma response mode. He wants us to come to Him and give our cares and concerns to Him.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
When we let go and let God, we are submitting fully to Him. We are letting go of whatever we've been trying to do on our own so God can work on our behalf. Whatever it is that you need to let go of,
God does not want us to be weighed down by the difficulties and worries of this life. Instead, He cares for us and promises rest for all who come to Him. When I looked up the word rest in the Strong's concordance, it means to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or labor in order to recover and collect his strength.
If you trust that God is in control and able to handle your concerns, cast all your cares on Him, daily giving Him your concerns in prayer and living in the rest He desires for you.
